Transitional tops to take you into Autumn

My window for showing off my tan is short!  In a couple of weeks it will have faded, but for right now, nothing beats a white top!  It’s universally flattering, takes years off you and is slowly weaning me off my kaftans and flowing white gowns, it is officially Autumn and time to move on. All the tops featured look far more expensive than what they cost and are cotton ( one exception I think the lace effect one) and not the cheapest pieces but they will hold their own with Isabel Marant, Wang or Acne.

I have tried on so many in trying to track down the best ones for you.  As no jackets or coats are needed yet you can get away with statement sleeves and detailing that just won’t work once you have to fit a coat over. BEWARE of the coat situation as these tops look best without one. The one below is from H&M from last year but you can find the same at Topshop this season.

The white top featured below is now sold out but  it has a very short shelf life.  It’s perfect for Autumn weather but the cut out detail means you wont get much wear out of it and it is probably too heavy for high Summer.  It was so beautiful I couldn’t resist, and as it was sold out, I can re-sell it very easily.  There is an alternative which is also divine and more practical and it is flying off the shelves.  I also found this one on sale for £10 and this one is also worth checking out.

Topshop have so many options and I bought this puff effect blouse yesterday it is online now.

H&M is another hotbed of great tops but you have to be quick as the good ones sell out fast.  I found this one which is so well made. The one I am wearing is only in store now but I do like this option too. The link to the one featured is below.

& Other Stories is always a sure bet for tops, the white one is lovely but not so keen on back buttons as just too hard to get on and off. They did have a brilliant black one, which is not online but worth checking out if white is not your thing, the sleeves are phenomenal.

The jeans are from Paige, called the Sarah Harris and the slides are from Ducie.  My advise is to look for the best fabrics you can find and go for longer sleeves.

I have invested in ones which are fitted at the waist, which is what sets the tops apart this season.

Just find one you love and wear it as much as you can in the next few weeks.  It is a real transition piece to get you through to jumper season.

I am working hard to separate the Shop WEAR WHAT I WEAR into highstreet, preloved, investment and vintage sections to make searching a lot easier, bringing you the best quality for less.
